As a child, you loved engineering. You could often be found in your attic room, taking apart all kinds of devices to see how they work. The challenge, of course, was to put everything back together. Then you started fixing broken electronics, troubleshooting more and more. Similarly, you have repaired your own PC and provided it with new memory cards several times. After high school, you were completely comfortable with your ICT studies at the higher vocational level (HBO). You had a great time there and did a lot of in-depth assignments. Including an assignment for a company in embedded software engineering. Writing software to drive hardware has been your pride and joy ever since. You have now been employed at Salland Engineering for a year and are enjoying it immensely. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you develop drivers, software calibration protocols and user interfaces for high-tech electrical measuring instruments. These are used to test state-of-the-art chips for, for example, the next generation of smartphones, new autonomous cars and lots of other innovative applications. Due to growth, Salland Engineering is looking for a proactive Embedded Software Engineer. Someone who adds value to our software, hardware and firmware development teams.
This is what you will be doing
- Design, implement and verify drivers for high-tech instruments in test solutions for ATE (Automatic Test Equipment);
- Design, implement and verify software calibration protocols to ensure instrument accuracy;
- Writing automated tests for hardware validation and developing user interface;
- Keeping information up to date;
- You will be responsible for your own planning and report to your team leader.

What do we ask of you?
- A bachelor's degree in ICT or electrical engineering with a minor or specialisation in software engineering;
- Experience with embedded software (C++) and .NET programming in C#;
- Experience with driver development;
- Knowledge of hardware electronics and reading and understanding of circuit diagrams;
- Knowledge of oscilloscopes and other measuring equipment to test software functionality;
- Interest in the new functional programming language F# (for desktop application development);
- You have a good verbal and written command of the English language.
